TTD on a mission mode to ensure ‘Plastic-free Tirumala’

TIRUMALA, MAY 11, 2023: Buoyed over the success of ‘Sundara Tirumala-Suddha Tirumala’ (Clean and Beautiful Tirumala), the mass cleaning mission with the voluntary participation of employees of TTD which commenced on April 30, the TTD has embarked upon an ambitious programme of ensuring plastic-free Tirumala.
Accordingly, the TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) has decided to take up mass cleaning programme of both the Tirumala Ghat Roads and footpath routes on May 13, besides the TTD workforce, district administration will also take part in the “Plastic-free” programme.
At a review meeting held at Sri Padmavathi Rest House in Tirupathi on Thursday, TTD EO AV Dharma Reddy said ‘the motto is to make Tirumala plastic free’. Former Chief Justice of India Justice NV Ramana is also participating in the event apart from District Collector Venkatramana Reddy, SP Parameshwar Reddy, AP Swachandra Corporation Advisor Dr Jayaprakash Sai and others he added.
Earlier, SE 2 Sri Jagadeeshwar Reddy explained the EO about the detailed plan of action with the help of PowerPoint Presentation. He enlisted the Incharge officers at various places in Up Ghat, Down Ghat roads, Alipiri and Srivarimettu footpath routes along with the details of supporting staff, Srivari sevaks etc.
The EO called upon all the officials to participate in the mission with dedication and set an example to others in this programme aimed at making Tirumala – a Plastic-free Zone. “The devotees should also get enlightened about the importance of making Tirumala an environment-friendly zone and completely avoid bringing plastic bottles and non-degradable plastics to Tirumala with this mega cleaning programme”, he asserted.
JEOs Sada Bhargavi and Veerabrahmam, CEO SVBC Shanmukh Kumar, DLO Veeraju, FACAO Balaji, HO Dr Sridevi, other deputation officials were also present.
