From sugarcane pulp to bagasse tableware–The manufacturing process:

Outlined below are the key stages involved in the manufacture of bagasse products from sugarcane pulp:


1. Bagasse collection:


Initially, sugarcane bagasse—residual fibre following juice extraction from the plant—is accumulated and transported to processing facilities for further manufacturing stages.

Screening and cooking are the second steps in the manufacturing process of bagasse tableware. During the initial screening, the quality of sugarcane pulp is assessed to ensure optimal fibre integrity for further processing. Cooking the bagasse not only enhances the tenacity and resistivity of the pulp fibres, making them more durable, but it also reduces the need for extensive chemical treatments. This means less chemical bleaching is required, resulting in a lower environmental impact and conserving energy during production. This stage alone achieves a reduction in energy use of approximately 20% and cuts chemical input by 15% compared to traditional methods. In the following process, sugarcane bagasse pulp is diluted in advanced moulding equipment. During this phase, wet embryos of different products are created. 4. Pressing the pulp:

For instance, each plate can withstand up to 220 pounds of direct pressure and temperatures of up to 200°F without losing integrity. This specific strength test highlights the practicality. The Scratch Resistance test validates that the products can withstand microwave reheating without degrading or losing their integrity.

The QC team also inspects for scratches, dents, or substandard finishing before product packaging. The products are sanitised and sterilised to remove bacteria or harmful toxins, guaranteeing they are safe for direct contact with food and beverages.
